Important Notice to Students – BSB80120 Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning)

What has changed

The Australian Government has decided to cancel the registration of BSB80120 Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning) for overseas students. This decision applies to all education providers in Australia, not only Acumen Education.

From 5 October 2026, education providers can no longer:

  • enrol new overseas students in BSB80120;
  • issue new Confirmations of Enrolment (CoEs) for BSB80120; or
  • allow overseas students who have not yet started BSB80120 to commence the course.

If you have not commenced BSB80120 by 5 October 2026, your CoE for this course will be cancelled automatically on that date.

Students who have already commenced

If you have already commenced BSB80120, you may continue your studies. Acumen Education will continue to deliver the course to you and support you through to completion.

Students who have not yet commenced

If you hold a BSB80120 CoE but have not yet commenced, Acumen Education is reviewing your circumstances individually. Depending on your situation, the following may apply:

  • Individual commencement arrangements before 5 October 2026. Where Acumen Education has completed an individual review and determined that you meet all admission, course suitability, enrolment and commencement requirements, and that your overall study arrangements are appropriate, we will contact you directly. These arrangements are determined solely by Acumen Education and are not available on request.
  • Refund of applicable unspent tuition fees. Where a refund obligation applies, Acumen Education will refund the applicable unspent tuition fees paid for BSB80120 in accordance with the ESOS framework and your written agreement. Refunds will be processed within the required timeframe.

Packaged study arrangements

If BSB80120 forms part of your packaged study arrangement, the Government’s cancellation measure applies specifically to BSB80120. Your other course enrolments are not automatically cancelled as a result of this measure. However, your overall study arrangements may need to be reviewed depending on your individual circumstances. If you have questions about the impact on your student visa, you should contact the Department of Home Affairs or a registered migration agent.

Alternative study options

Acumen Education does not offer an alternative course at the same qualification level. If you would like to continue your studies in another course, we recommend that you speak with your education agent, who can help you find a suitable course with another education provider.

What you should do

If you have received an email from Acumen Education about this change, please follow the instructions in that email. If you have not heard from us and believe you may be affected, please contact our Student Services team as soon as possible.

We encourage you to speak with us before making any changes to your enrolment.

Important Notice to Education Agents – BSB80120 Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning)

Acumen Education advises all authorised education agents of the Australian Government’s decision to suspend and cancel the CRICOS registration of BSB80120 Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning).

From 5 October 2026, CRICOS providers can no longer:

  • issue new CoEs for BSB80120;
  • enrol new overseas students in BSB80120; or
  • commence overseas students who have not already commenced the qualification.

Students who have commenced BSB80120 before 5 October 2026 may continue their studies. CoEs for students who have not commenced by that date will be cancelled automatically on 5 October 2026.

Acumen Education no longer accepts applications for BSB80120 from overseas students.

How Acumen Education is managing affected students

Acumen Education is reviewing all affected student records, including future BSB80120 CoEs that form part of packaged study arrangements. We are communicating directly with affected students about continuation arrangements, the options available to them and applicable refund arrangements.

Acumen Education does not offer an alternative course at a similar AQF level. Where an affected student has not commenced BSB80120, the available options are:

  • Commencement before 5 October 2026. This applies only where Acumen Education has reviewed the student’s enrolment, eligibility, course suitability and overall study arrangements and confirmed that commencement is appropriate. These arrangements are determined directly by Acumen Education.
  • Refund of applicable unspent tuition fees. This is assessed in accordance with the ESOS Act, the student’s written agreement and Acumen Education’s refund obligations.

Students who wish to continue studying in another course are being advised to contact their education agent for help finding a suitable course with another education provider.

Refund arrangements

Refunds will be processed by Acumen Education and paid directly to the student, or to another party only where the student has authorised this in writing. Refunds will be paid within the timeframes required under the ESOS framework.

What agents must do

Agents must:

  • ensure affected students are aware that, depending on their individual circumstances, they may be able to commence BSB80120 before 5 October 2026 following review by Acumen Education, or may be entitled to a refund of applicable unspent tuition fees;
  • support students who wish to continue their studies to identify a suitable course with another education provider, based on the student’s genuine study goals, previous studies and circumstances;
  • refer all enrolment, commencement and refund enquiries about BSB80120 to Acumen Education for assessment;
  • advise Acumen Education of any changes to the contact details or circumstances of affected students; and
  • refer students seeking advice about their student visa to the Department of Home Affairs or a registered migration agent.

Agents must not promise or arrange early commencement of BSB80120 on Acumen Education’s behalf. Any commencement before 5 October 2026 is determined solely by Acumen Education following review of the student’s individual circumstances.

The Australian Government has advised that provider and agent behaviour and student enrolment patterns during this transition are being closely monitored. All student arrangements must be genuine, appropriately documented and consistent with regulatory requirements.
